What you'll learn

Take your skills to the next level with this Direct Support Professional (DSP) II microcredential. DSPs support and advocate for and with people with developmental disabilities. This microcredential aligns with the DSP II certification offered to DSPs through the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP), which means the work you do at FSC is recognized across the country. This microcredential is the second in a series of three, along with the DSP I and DSP III Microcredentials, that are part of a new, limited time grant program from the NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). We encourage you to take all three. This microcredential series is open to those already working in the field for at least 6 months. Thanks to a partnership with OPWDD, limited time grant funding is available to pay for your tuition, fees, books, course materials, NADSP credentialing, and educational support. Eligible students who successfully complete each microcredential and certification can earn $750 stipends. Successful completion readies you for continued study and career advancement.
