What you'll learn
This CNC Operator microcredential provides you with essential skills needed for success in New York's growing advanced manufacturing industry. You will put your classroom instruction to work in a paid on-the-job experience under a Co-Op agreement. You will learn how to read and interpret blueprints and maintain tolerances and specifications on CNC Mill and Lathe projects and operations. You will also learn to immediately adjust CNC equipment while inspecting various projects. Completing the CNC Operator microcredential will also lead to your earning two HAAS CNC Certifications: 1) Basic Mill Operator and 2) Basic Lathe Operator. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, readies those new to the field to immediately apply for CNC Operator positions, and provides upskilling for those currently in manufacturing seeking to move to the CNC position (current employer is possible for the require Co-Op experience). Note: Courses in the microcredential also align with various New York State Department of Labor Apprenticeship Programs.
