The New York State wine industry generates close to $16.81 billion in total economic activity, directly employing as many as 45,000 people with additional jobs in supplier and ancillary industries (according to Wine America's 2025 Economic Impact Study). This Wine Studies Proficiency microcredential is grounded in the history of viticulture, providing you with applied experience in wine making, including the growing of grapes, fermentation, soil and climate study. You will understand the business infrastructure that supports the wine industry. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the wine production process, from vineyard to bottle.
