What you'll learn
This Animation Microcredential provides you with hands-on experience in animation and sound design while building in-demand creative and technical skills. You will explore animation theory and practice using industry-standard Adobe Creative Cloud tools, including Animate, After Effects, Media Encoder, and related applications. You will be able to integrate studio art practices and digital media, creating keyframe animation using 3D rendering, camera movements, and dynamic visual effects. You will gain experience with sound editing/production systems, combining various sound elements to create sonic structures used in film, television, radio and games. Through creation of original animation projects, you will gain experience taking work from concept through to production, creating a portfolio that showcases your abilities. Successful completion of this microcredential readies you to continue your education in either the Communication & Media Arts or Visual Arts associate degrees and prepare for transfer to the baccalaureate level, with in-demand skills that ready you for internships and freelance work. If you are already working in a creative field, such as graphic design, web design, or social media, this microcredential provides the specialized skills needed to keep pace or advance, applicable to careers such as storyboard artist, background designer, animator, compositor, motion graphics artist, and sound designer.
