What you'll learn

New York has a diverse and dynamic manufacturing industry looking for skilled technicians! The Electro-Mechanical System Fundamentals microcredential provides you with essential in-demand skills that are foundational across manufacturing in multiple industries. You will understand hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical motor controls and the associated precision measurement tools that use them. You will learn how to read and interpret basic electrical and mechanical schematics, troubleshoot problems and realize solutions, perform calculations used in the trade, and build strong communication skills. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you to continue your education and apply for entry-level technician positions in industrial facilities focusing on hydraulics and pneumatics, and can also be a pathway to a NYS registered apprenticeship program. Importantly, microcredential completers will receive 4 (four) college credits (credit by evaluation) upon enrolling in the related Cayuga degree program.
