What you'll learn
Advertising as part of Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) takes on an exciting and important role! IMC refers to ways in which businesses and organizations integrate multiple marketing communication channels-like advertising, public relations, digital marketing-and related tools, to deliver consistent messages to target audiences. This Advertising microcredential takes a detailed look at the role of advertising in the IMC mix, with special emphasis on the customer. You will gain essential skills in planning advertising campaigns, media selection, even the economic, legal, and social considerations of advertising and promotion for a given organization or company. These are essential skills for entrepreneurs, small business owners, and those working in corporate or non-profit marketing and communications roles. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, adds specialized skills for current professionals and entrepreneurs and also prepares those new to the profession for internships and to immediately apply for entry to junior level positions in the communications field such as marketing coordinator, account coordinator, media buyer assistant.
