What you'll learn

Dive into the world of computer numerically controlled tools with this CNC Operator microcredential. A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine is a type of manufacturing equipment that is controlled by a computerized system to execute precise machining operations on various materials. CNC machines are widely used in industries such as aerospace, automotive, electronics, medical devices, and more, for the production of complex parts and components. Tailored for aspiring professionals, this microcredential equips you with the essential skills in metrology-the measurements that drive quality and accuracy, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. You will be able to read blueprints and technical drawings, you will know how to operate essential tools, understand essential shop mathematics and shop safety, and gain hands-on experience with CNC machines. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, apprenticeship and to immediately apply for positions including CNC operator, machine operator, or manufacturing technician, working under an experienced supervisor.
