What you'll learn
Ready to help others do their taxes? This microcredential is designed to provide you with the essential skills, knowledge and experience to support individual tax preparation as well as preparation for small businesses. You will operate in a simulated business environment, fine-tuning your tax skills and gaining an appreciation for the professional expectations of this work. Based on employer feedback an industry certification is not necessary. However, future growth opportunities would require a tax preparer to obtain the Enrolled Agent certification through the IRS. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, starts the process to prepare you to earn IRS certification, and readies you to begin applying for tax preparation positions.
