What you'll learn
If you are seeking a career that centers on animals, consider this Animal Behavior and Emergency Response microcredential! Developed in partnership with local veterinarians and veterinary hospitals, this microcredential is a must have for those seeking to work in these settings and one that serves as a pathway to continued study in SUNY Ulster's veterinarian technician degree program. You will gain essential skills in animal care and observation, safe restraining techniques, taking vital signs, emergency response and performing animal CPR. You will also have an option to customize your microcredential by adding a business or entrepreneurship course that could support a mobile pet care business while you continue your studies. Successful completion of this microcredential prepares you for continued study, to immediately apply for or advance in administrative and care positions at veterinary clinics and hospitals, and can also set a foundation for operating your own business.
